About Us

Founded in 1952, in the heart of Sonoma County, Sebastopol Wranglers is a non-profit all breed, multi discipline, family oriented equestrian riding and driving club. We offer a variety of clinics, shows, family activities, and participate in community events.

Our Mission:

  • To promote the breeding, education and improvement, of driving and riding horses.
  • Sponsoring equestrian events under prevailing horse show rules and guidelines for the good of the Community.
  • The promotion of organized club rides, and improvement of riding skills.
  • The promotion of trails for riding throughout the Sebastopol area and Sonoma County, and the State of California.
  • The promotion of social activities and/or events for the pleasure of its members and guests.
  • The promotion of interest in riding for family groups and individual.
  • The promotion of and the perpetuation of good sportsmanship.

Thanks to all who came out to our Moonlight Poker Ride and Camp-out. It was a great success and really fun evening!

we are having our first Trail Obstacle Practice and Show of the season. Gates open at 9:00am with practice starting at 9:30. Lunch will be served at noon and the competition will start at 1:00pm. So get those horses used to all the scary things you can before joining us for this fun event.

we will be hosting our 3rdThursday Night Playday Series. These will occur every Thursday evening from . Gates open at 4:00pm with the event starting at 6:00pm with our PeeWees. Events include Poles, Single Stake, Speed Barrels, Cloverleaf Barrels and a Mystery Event. Hope to see you all there!

Come join us for freat time at our < on . Come ride and stay overnight at Lake Sonoma Horse Camp! You may arrive at 2pm on Saturday to set up camp before the ride spend the night and ride on your own the next day. OR Park at Lone Rock Trail Head . Riders sign up 4pm / 1st rider out 830pm. Tri Tip BBQ Dinner at 6pm.

Our next Barrel Race will be the 1st race in our annual Hot August Nites to be held on out at the Sebastopol Arena. Hope to see all you can chasers out there.

There is still a lot of work that needs to be done at the arena. If you have some time & can help out here are a list of what needs doing:

  • weed wack the grass around warm up pen
  • replace boards that have fallen down on round pen
  • clean bathrooms
  • shop for the snack shack
  • clean under oak tree in front of snack shack
  • clean picnic tables and reset them
  • electrical fixed in announcers booth

And don't forget to track your hours and report them to our membership chair at

Sonoma Action For Equine Rescue (SAFER)

SAFER is a local charity helping to rescue horses from bad situations or to buy horses at the local auction for later adoption. The charity also has a program to help supply hay to horse owners who want to keep their animals, but are having tough economic times.  SAFER is also always looking for more volunteers.  Please check out SAFER's HomePage for more information.

At the American Paint Horse Association, we know that your riding and driving activities are as diverse as the color patterns on the horses we register.
